What are the maintenance requirements of a wind turbine?

Every few years, maintenance inspections are required and depending on the turbine size, these tests typically cost between £100 and £200 annually.

A properly maintained turbine will survive for more than 20 years. Still, you may need to replace the inverter at some point, costing between £1,000 and £2,000 for a large system.

You will need to replace the batteries in off-grid systems every six to ten years. The size and design of the system will determine the costs of replacing batteries.

Any backup generator will also need fuel and require upkeep.
